SPECIAL NEEDS DOG

BLOSSOM

Blossom really has no special needs other than a loving forever family!

Hi, my name is Blossom. The girls at RRLA call me that because I really have blossomed here at the kennel. I was found alone on the road in Tehachapi on the 4th of July. No one from my family looked for me. I was very thin and so hungry with no hope of finding someone to love me. A wonderful person with a soft spot for dogs picked me up and that’s how I got to RRLA.

They tell me I am about 7 years old but may look older cause I didn't have such a good start in life. I sure don't feel my age. I love to play, run around and wiggle for attention. If you pet me long enough, I will tell you how much I like it with little whiney moans of joy. One of our volunteers came to the kennel one day and gave me a bath and made me look beautiful. She said I was very good for my bath and blow dry, I just know it felt good and I liked all the attention.

If you adopt me I will love you for the rest of my life and I think that will be a very long time. Thank you for looking at me and reading my history. Blossom from Tehachapi.

DOGS FOR ADOPTION

MIDNIGHT

Sire: Ch Lehr's IROC-Z World; Dam: Thndr.Mtn's Alpha Jetta Omega; Breeder: Dominic Castro

Midnight is 4 years old, very easy to handle, excellent manners. She is very trusting, and will step forward into people for greeting and affection. She was very much loved in her prior home, never abused. Good with other dogs. Was an outside dog, so housebreaking is an unknown. Excellent health and condition. If you would like to adopt Midnight, please fill in our adoption application

DELILAH

Sire: Rici OD Dargicevica; Dam: Anastacia vom Rodkman; Breeder:

Delilah, 2-1/2 years old, and her half-brother (see below) came to us with bilateral entropion. They have now had surgery and are doing great. Delilah is absolutely gorgeous, calm, affectionate medium large sized girl. She never gets upset, is always in a good mood, just like Samson! Delilah is good with other dogs, cats and kids. If you would like to adopt Delilah, please fill in our adoption application

COCO

Coco is approximately 2 years old. The people got her from a "free dog" ad and then bred her. Once they were done, they called RRLA to come and pick her up. She is medium to large in size with a strong build. She has classic Rottweiler female temperament--sound, friendly, but doesn't want strangers in her face right away. Once she knows you, you can do anything with her. Probably not housebroken and needs obedience training. Very smart though, and a good judge of human character. If you would like to adopt Coco, please fill in our adoption application

APOLLO

Apollo is a 5-year-old male who we placed a few years ago. His elderly owner had to move out of state and couldn't take him so he's back with us here at RRLA. He is completely obedience trained, but could probably use a brush-up, as his owner spoiled him rotten. He is housebroken, lived with a large female dog, and loves to ride in the car. He has correct strong temperament and likes to be pushy if he can. Very pretty and a bit vocal. If you would like to adopt Apollo, please fill in our adoption application.

WHITMAN

It was hard getting a picture of Whitman, because he never stops moving! Very athletic, busy and friendly. He was found loose out at Whitman Airport. Young, about 1 year of age. If you would like to adopt Whitman, please fill in our adoption application.

KING

King is a 3-year-old male bred by Brenda Creel, and sired by a Vom Stefanhaus dog. He is a beautiful, large, athletic and fit male with obedience training. The owners lost their home due to foreclosure. He is a high energy dog, loves his toys and to play, and is very attentive and social. This is one wonderful dog, with a great mind, soul and body. If you would like to adopt King, please fill in our adoption application.

JAKE

Jake is medium sized and very athletic, mostly housebroken (meaning he still needs some supervision - crate - as he will mark if left alone). He is good on a leash. If you would like to adopt Jake, please fill in our adoption application.

TU PIECE

Tu Piece is about 2 1/2 years old and a real clown. He loves to play ball, is housebroken, lived as a housedog, gets along with female dogs. He has just started to display a little leash aggression, but stops immediately upon receiving a correction. Will need to go right into an obedience class. Very outgoing and comical, loves people and kids. If you would like to adopt Tu Piece, please fill in our adoption application.

SUNNY

Sunny was found in Sun Valley, at only 44 pounds and scared from being abused. We weren't sure how she would do, so we let her "hang out" for a few weeks, eat, and settle in. She's gained 20 pounds and has really come around with her interest and trust in people. She used to bay in fear at people, and now she wags and is looking for some attention. She is medium-sized. If you would like to adopt Sunny, please fill in our adoption application.

MAX

Max was originally placed at the age of 4 months by us to people who ended up dumping him at a shelter claiming he was a stray. The shelter called us because of his microchip. When our rescue called the "owners" to inquire how Max was doing, they informed us that the dog was right there with them and was doing fine. Our rescue picked him up at the shelter and he is back with us now. Max is very, very sweet, with basic good manners. We do not know if he is housebroken, because we have no reason to believe anything the previous "owners" have told us. Max is tall, lanky, and looks very young. He is healthy and looking for someone to belong to. Max's three brothers and one sister are all in incredible homes. If you would like to adopt Max, please fill in our adoption application

EMERSON

Emerson is a very sweet pup, about 8 or 9 months old. She was raised in a junkyard and given up because she wasn't a good watch dog! She's friendly and good with other dogs. She did not get a lot of exposure at her previous "living arrangement", so she'll need someone who can take the time to show her life in the outside world. She is very willing to learn and please. If you would like to adopt Emerson, please fill in our adoption application.

FELICITY

Felicity was found in Los Feliz. She's about 18 months to 2 years old. The people who found her walked her back to their house, and she proved to not only be housebroken and have good house manners but also got along well with their male dog. She is medium in size, with a very strong and sturdy build. Very friendly and sure of herself. If you would like to adopt Felicity, please fill in our adoption application

AMY

Amy is a young, very gentle and endlessly sweet and happy girl, about one and a half years old. She was dumped on the side of Hwy 1 in Oxnard with her 4 puppies. She has been spayed and is gaining weight. If you would like to adopt Amy, please fill in our adoption application

CHINO

Chino has been passed around; he was an owner surrender to a shelter, then the person who adopted him gave him to someone else who appears to have abandoned him on the street. Chino is about 2 years old, medium sized and well built. Friendly and alert! If you would like to adopt Chino, please fill in our adoption application

TEDDY

Teddy is a large and handsome boy, about 2 years old. He has good manners, is very easy to handle, and walks nicely on a leash. If you would like to adopt Teddy, please fill in our adoption application

PRINCESS

Princess is 2 years old, medium size, very strong build, very social. She will need training as she was kept as a backyard dog. If you would like to adopt Princess, please fill in our adoption application

AXEL

Axel vom Hapki, DOB: 12/24/2005; Sire: Jeneck's Hank; Dam: Jeneck's Rhonda; Breeder: Bill Chin Gwak

Axel is not quite 2 years old and a big boy. Considering the fact that Axel was not given a lot of attention and lived in a small cement backyard, he has an amazing personality. This dog is filled with humor, fun and games. He tosses buckets, squeaks his toys, plays with his boomer ball and struts around amusing himself and everyone else around him. He came to us underweight with a dead undercoat. He looked like a walking parka. He is now being free-fed and has been brushed, bathed and blow-dried. He loved all the grooming! He has had no obedience, is not housebroken, and tends to be on the active side. Axel is half-brother to Riley, who was placed by us six months ago. If you would like to adopt Axel, please fill in our adoption application

PUPPIES

We do get puppies once in a while; if you wish to adopt a puppy, and don't mind waiting (we can't predict when we will have puppies), please fill out our online adoption application and if approved, we will put you on the waiting list.

ROMEO

Sire: Chancellor's Legend of Fame; Dam: Champion Iron Huntress Di Chancellor; Breeder: Wendy Lewellen.

Romeo comes from a well-known show breeder in Northern California. He is a little over a year old and quite beautiful. He was bought by a young woman who was not able to find consistent housing for herself, let alone with a dog. He is neutered, very sweet, has been a housedog, is well socialized and very friendly to all, needs some training. His date of birth is 8-21-06. Both his parents are OFA certified for hips and elbows. If you would like to adopt Romeo, please fill in our adoption application

PEEWEE

Sire: Canadian Champion Rennick's Custom Design; Dam: Tobant's Kelo

PeeWee is a gorgeous medium large male, 3-1/2 years old, housedog and housebroken, basic obedience. Trusting, friendly, calm, handsome, lovely temperament. If you would like to adopt PeeWee, please fill in our adoption application

The following three dogs, all from well-known breeders, were all surrendered to us by the same man who "no longer had the time" for them. All three are very friendly. These photos were taken when they came in, we'll post new photos of them soon.

SARAH VON RYDER

Sarah Von Ryder is a 4-1/2-year-old small, smiling, cheery girl. Cute as a bug, friendly and healthy. She's been bred several times, and it looks to us as if she weaned puppies right before she was given up. She was not OFA certified before being bred, even though her owner was a COE club member in 2005. Breeder: Pam Banta; Parents: Oak Valley's Marcus (OFA good) x Banta's Billie (not OFA certified). If you would like to adopt Sarah, please fill in our adoption application

ARIA VOM AZTLAN

Aria vom Aztlan Aria is a 22-month- old female, medium sized, pretty girl. Easy going and friendly. Breeder: Ruben Pina; Parents: Xanthos vom Wolfert Turm, VPG 3, ZTP x Zafira v Wolfert Turm, VPG 1 (since the sire is in Europe, we're guessing that the dam was bought and then shipped over pregnant). For more information on these dogs, please go to www.vomaztland.com. The mother is there, and for info on the father, you can click on the vom Wolfert Turm kennels from the Links page. If you would like to adopt Aria, please fill in our adoption application

Aria is not the only Vom Aztlan dog in our rescue. Her nephew has joined us. Cowboy is the offspring of Aria's sister Alexagela Vom Aztlan and a dog named Spike Rodriquez II. She was little more than a year old when she was bred. Cowboy was turned into RRLA because of an uncertain temperament - first bite at the age of 13 months. He is now being evaluated by one of our trainers. Keep up the good work Vom Aztlan!

JENECKS RILEY

Riley: 22-month-old male, small to medium in size, very beautiful. He's been handled a little too roughly, but recovers nicely when he realizes you're just going to love on him. Very friendly with people and other dogs. He'll do some nice growing up here at RRLA. We're already in love with him! Breeder: Eckart Salquist; Parents: Jenecks Gaucho, SchH I, ZTP x Jenecks Rhonda, SchH 1, ZTP, To see hip ratings and photos of these dogs, please go to www.jenecks.com. If you would like to adopt Riley, please fill in our adoption application
